Mount Carmel College French Fest- Franco Feel 09

One word of advice: When they mean french fest, they MEAN everything is in french..
As you know, i am a big lover of college fests, and i couldn’t resist going to the French Fest FRANCO FEEL at Mount Carmel College.The news came to me, when my friends told me there’s an invitation from MCC , i immediately called up MCC, where i spoke to The very friendly French teacher who told me that we could perform a song..

My friends, one senior and me practiced “hey there Delilah” by plain white tees and were pretty confident.Once we reached Mount Carmel College (which was on Friday the 13th by the way), we had the following shocks:

  • Every college HAS to participate in “MASCOT” , where we have to speak only in french.(we weren’t aware of this).
  • You cant perform a song in English, it has to be only in French.
But, nothing..i mean nothing can stop me from having fun…So we immediately started making up a skit ( we called up our friends from college for additional actors and most of my classmates came to support us..i know, my friends rock!) and performed it front of the judges . (we also learned a few sentences in french).

The crowd loved us (obviously), but we werent eligeble for a prize (because we did not know french…ahem..)

Second, our song…We spoke to the teacher and she said that we can perform our song, but it will not be considered for the prize…

Who cares? we came to have a good fun time, not to win prizes…We played Hey there Delilah (the girls loved it, by the way did i mention that mount Carmel college is an all girls college??).

We had a small suprise at the end of the song, where we sang the chorus in french (again the chicks went crazy)..

After our stellar performance, we were asked to come back, and we performed a song i wrote called “Muskan”..

Again, the chicks liked it (i just dont understand why…hmm…)..

After that, we left home with fond memories and lots of phone numbers…

Next time, we are planning to go for their huge college fest “Kala”, and hopefully return for the french fest (we will learn some french, I SWEAR!).

    oh yes! French fest rocked! friday the 13th made my day with unlimited fun. i thank mount carmel college girls for all their support and encouragement.

    and also, Abraham was the one who played the guitar for Hey there Delilah…man the girls were all over him!

    Oh yea!!……we had loads of fun that day.I missed Acharya’s class for it!!! :D . It was an unforgettable day for me :) …..thank u guys for callin all of us to the fest.
