Roof Top Film Festival

I attended the Bangalore Roof Top film festival held at British Library on saturday 27th. I honestly went their cause Bharath repeatedly asked me, and also mainly because Ice Cream, Love Arranged and Void were going to be screened there (FYI:The three short films i did the post production for..) Well i arrived there late as usual, but was kinda dissapointed about the number of people that attended..

Anywho, when they started initially with the first few short films, i quite honestly wanted to grab the hand of the person sitting next to me and gouge my eyes out. But then gradually, we really started seeing some nice work.

Finally, Ice Cream was screened! And boy was it well recieved, i mean people were clapping, whistling, taking their bra’s off, jumping out of the window and shi*. Siddhanth was obviously really happy with the response. Love Arranged recieved quite a good reaction to, but Void..cough..hmm, i dont quiet seem to remember what happened.

But the most beneficial part was meeting a lot of filmmakers and film lovers at the end of the screenings, that was hell helpful!

Next time its gonna be aired, i am so going to screen my movie! More to come in the coming weeks. Going to Ooty for a few days, and after that Leh(Kashmir) for a week. Will surely write about that!

Bharath had asked me to edit this film, which he and his group had made during his film making course at Film making 101. When i saw the first cut of this film, i honestly didn’t like any part of the editing (but realized it had potential). Anyway, after a lot of fixing up the editing issues, doing the whole sound and score, with the titles..the movie has shaped up a bit. Tell me what you think…

Oh k, i am so f$#@ing excited right now that i cant even type properly. As a film maker, one of the hardest things to do when making a film is to have the balls to change parts of  the story if you dont like it , no matter how far you have gone into the production.

I met up with my friend Abraham at his old PG house, and i met Prithvi Pai by accident, (who coincidently ,from a young age loves writing scripts), i just generally wanted to speak to everyone about how i wanted to change the second half of  Revelations, since i felt it was too cliche and to predictable.

The ideas that Prithvi came up with is nothing short of creative genius, and i am proud to include his name in the credits as Writer.

The script has gone through a completle overhaul, and he also gave an amazing idea for the trailer too. I can’t thank god enough for making me meet him and giving me the urge to stop the production and re-write the script.

Now, i can confidently tell you  guys ,without any hesitation, that this is going to be my best work yet. Now, it is going to be difficult to finish the shooting on the scheduled time, but i honestly I dont care as i believe this script needs all the time it can get.

I am  currently  finishing the final screenplay and tomorrow we will have a cast& crew meeting to see how everything turns out. Will keep you guys updated.

I saw the film “Once” the day before at 1:30am, on Star Movies. Its just amazing how a movie can touch you. The story is about two ordinary people who share the passion for writing songs. One, a guy lost in love and the other a girl escaped from her suffocating country looking for a new life in London…The music in the movie is just so pure and beautiful.

The song i liked the most was “Falling Slowly”. I just had to try out for myself. Hope you like it.

The lyrics if you want it:

I don’t know you
But I want you
All the more for that
Words fall through me
And always fool me
And I can’t react
And games that never amount
To more than they’re meant
Will play themselves out

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We’ve still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you have a choice
You’ll make it now

Falling slowly, eyes that know me
And I can’t go back
Moods that take me and erase me
And I’m painted black
You have suffered enough
And warred with yourself
It’s time that you won

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We’ve still got time
Raise your hopeful voice you had a choice
You’ve made it now
Falling slowly sing your melody
I’ll sing along

making

Yes, we are still in pre-production stage, working on the Story boarding. Its going slow, but i am willing to be patient because i love what Dilip, Abraham and Arjun have come up so far. The way they scene is completely different and inspiring since we all can combine our ideas together and make something entirely original and exciting.

We also need to go location hunting, after that i will draw up a rough budget and hope that my dad agrees to lend me money for it…eh ya.

Right now, things are going pretty well, since Bharath has got the external mic for shooting so i dont have to worry about sound. Camera’s are also hopefully in place. All the required actors also are available. Everything going pretty well if you ask me.

I have also put a small attachment of a Jason picture. Also, i have tried out the “White Eye” effect that makes Jason’s character stand out. Just worried about the scenes when he is pretty far from the camera, hopefully i will be able to pull it off.

So , i will keep you guys updated with other stuff i am doing also.

So take care people..
